Overview: While working at a local cafe located on the ski slopes I noticed a need from tourists to have a quick and easy way to access the menu. The cafe is popular not just with local tourists but also the international tourists who visit the area as well.
Goal: I wanted to design an app for the cafe that could be used by international tourists if they are unfamiliar with the local language or by local tourists if they would like to know more about dietary restrictions.  The ultimate goal of this project is to help consumers know what they are ordering so they can make informed decisions.
To find out what type of app would most benefit the customers at the cafe I conducted user research to see how the customers currently interacted at the cafe and interviews to see how best it could help them in the future. Since the clientele consists of many foreign tourists, I knew the most important feature of the app was to have the current menu translated into English as there was currently no English menu available in the cafe, this would make it easier for the tourists to understand the menu without knowing the local language. The further into my research I got I realized just how much foreign tourists struggled to understand the names and food items. I created all my digital wireframes, low fidelity, and high-fidelity designs using Figma.
After completing my high-fidelity design, I tested it with users at the cafe. All the users agreed that this app would help to improve users' experience at the cafe. It would make it easier for customers to understand the menu and they would feel more comfortable and confident while visiting the cafe.
